The X-Scotia Hike & Fly is back in 2022 with a new format. This year to make the race more accessible it will be a ‘points for peaks’ style competition where pilots will tag as many peaks as possible on foot or in the air, before returning to the central event base camp on Sunday afternoon.

Different peaks will carry different point values according to their difficulty and distance from the event base. It is an overnight race ‘vol-biv’ style where participants will be encouraged to spend Saturday night in the mountains (bonus points for doing so) during a mandatory rest period.

The following morning from 7am, competitors continue to tag peaks but must make it back to base camp by 4pm when the race ends. Don’t be late! Late arrivals will be penalised and your hard earned points will quickly disappear if you don’t make it successfully back to base on Sunday.

Once the race is over we will tally up the scores, give out prizes and everyone is invited to stay Sunday night for a social and BBQ. Have you got what it takes race in the UK’s most challenging terrain? Only one way to find out…
